Annice Garza of Los Fresnos CISD will be speaking on behalf of CATCH in the “Schools” room.  Her presentation is titled “Coordinated School Health is CATCHing on in Los Fresnos” and the description follows:

In 2014, the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District began a best practice implementation of the CATCH Coordinated School Health Program in 9 elementary schools and 3 middle schools. Hear from the District Curriculum Coordinator about the steps taken to successfully build support for implementing
coordinated school health among administrators, staff, parents, and community members. Lessons learned from this first year will be discussed and evidence of program impact presented. This session will also highlight the challenges that districts face when external funding for new programs comes to an end, and share Los Fresnos CISD’s plans for sustaining CATCH.
