Session Title: Changing Cultures – Changing Lives: Coordinated School Health Programs That Work
Coordinated School Health Programs (CSHP) can change student’s health related behaviors but not before the school environment – i.e., culture – changes. And that means the health behaviors of the faculty and staff must precede any change in the students. After all, curricula and programs don’t change behaviors unless they are delivered in an environment that supports, and by adult behaviors that are a reflection of, what is being taught in the classrooms. This session will address 3 key aspects that define effective coordinated school health programs – those that change environments and change lives.
